Child missing education (CME)
If a child with identified child protection concerns is ‘missing’, you must immediately inform the:
- relevant social service duty team
- Children Missing Education Officer by email: cme@eastsussex.gov.uk
You should make your own efforts to locate the pupil before making a CME referral.
Refer a child missing education
Use the CME checklist to show the actions the school has taken. You will need to show this as part of the referral process.
