This section supports children transitioning into Reception and the early years of primary school.

Support Available:

• Targeted Support Services:

  • Early Years Hub transition programmes for Reception starters.
  • Training for new Reception teachers to support transition.
  • Funding and support packages tailored to cohort needs.
  • CLASS webinars, workshops, and practitioner visits to support individual children.
  • Liaison between SEND PSS and SEND EYS for EHCP pupils entering Reception.

• Sensory Needs Service (SNS):

  • Environmental audits and accessibility planning for new pupils.
  • Deaf and Vision Impairment awareness training for staff.
  • Transition passports and planning meetings with parents and professionals.
