5 Ways to Wellbeing
The 5 Ways to Wellbeing are five simple, evidence-informed actions that can help improve mental health, emotional wellbeing, and resilience. Developed to promote positive wellbeing for people of all ages, the five ways are:
- Connect – build positive relationships and a sense of belonging.
- Be Active – engage in regular physical activity to support both physical and mental health.
- Take Notice – be mindful of the present moment and appreciate the world around you.
- Keep Learning – try new experiences, develop skills, and nurture curiosity.
- Give – show kindness, support others, and contribute to your community.
Embedding the 5 Ways to Wellbeing across a whole-school approach can help create a positive culture that supports the wellbeing of pupils, staff, and families. We offer training and support for schools on how to effectively implement the 5 Ways to Wellbeing through curriculum activity, enrichment opportunities, staff wellbeing initiatives, and parental engagement. Our training provides practical strategies, resources, and examples to help schools make wellbeing a visible and sustainable part of everyday school life.
To support your school community, we have also provided two downloadable resources:
- 5 Ways to Wellbeing for Parents and Carers – practical ideas for promoting wellbeing at home.
- 5 Ways to Wellbeing for Staff Guide to give ideas of simple strategies or activities to support wellbeing and build a positive culture.
