About our services

Librarian advisory time

We offer a range of services to help improve your school library and raise the profile of reading for  learning and pleasure.

East Sussex Children's Book Award

Our East Sussex Children's Book Award (ESCBA) is an annual event and a great way to promote Reading for Pleasure in upper KS2. It is free for schools to take part but you must register.

Reading for pleasure

We understand that schools can find promoting reading for pleasure a challenge, especially when it comes to giving pupils a tempting choice of the latest fiction to read, as well as old favourites and some more unusual choices to catch their interest. Our Reading for Pleasure offer means we can do the hard work for you, and supply you with the best books to keep for your school.

Library membership for teachers

Every teacher in primary and special schools can sign up for a Teacher's Card to make the most of our library membership for teachers.  This free service will entitle the holder of the card to borrow up to 40 books from our Teachers' Collection for 12 weeks.
