About our services

Librarian advisory time

We offer a range of services to help improve your school library and raise the profile of reading for  learning and pleasure.

Book award

This annual book award is presented by East Sussex Libraries.

The award is aimed at children in years 4,5 and 6.  For the first time this year schools can access parts of the East Sussex Children's Book Award  without buying in to the full package.  Contact library.enquiries@eastsussex.gov.uk  for more information.

Reading for pleasure

We understand that schools can find promoting reading for pleasure a challenge, especially when it comes to giving pupils a tempting choice of the latest fiction to read, as well as old favourites and some more unusual choices to catch their interest. Our Reading for Pleasure offer means we can do the hard work for you, and supply you with the best books to keep for your school.

Library membership for teachers

From September 2018 each teacher in your school will be entitled to a Teachers' card.  This free service will entitle the holder of the card to borrow up to 40 books from our Teachers' Collection.
