School Registers

Latest

From 09 October 2023 we will be launching a new Czone website. The new site has been redesigned and restructured, based on feedback from Schools, Colleges and Settings. We hope the new site will help all education providers to easily access useful information and resources. You will still be able to access the site using the link czone.eastsussex.gov.uk.

Absence codes

All schools must use fixed national absence codes to record pupil absence. The codes help to monitor the reasons why children are absent from school and levels of unauthorised absence. If you would like more information about using the codes or you have any other enquiries about pupil absence, please contact the Education Support, Behaviour and Attendance Service.

School register audits

The Education Support, Behaviour and Attendance Service can carry out audits of maintained school registers where there are concerns around accurate coding.Schools will be inspected using an audit tool developed by Education Support, Behaviour and Attendance Service and the Department for Education. For more information download the audit tool

Further information

If you would like more information about using the absence codes or the annual audit inspections please contact the Education Support, Behaviour and Attendance Service.
