Crisis management in schools relates to the management of onsite or offsite incidents by way of a pre-determined plan. The plan will detail options for responding to scenarios and the roles and responsibilities of staff and governors.

The model plan is a guide text that should be adapted to the needs of the setting, determined through a risk assessment of local hazards.

Further links support responses to such things as bomb threats and active shooter scenarios.

Training and Purchase Information

Crisis Management support is available to academies, free schools and the independent sector via the Services 2 Schools Webshop, order number OAEV-01.

Bespoke training is recommended at last every three years and when there is a change in school leadership.

Links to current advice and guidance are updated regularly and should be the first port of call, if you have a query.
