DfE Guidance on temporary changes: attendance recording for educational settings whilst closed due to the coronavirus

We have put together key information and resources for schools to help maintain provision during the COVID-19 situation.

Recruiting and retaining skilled and committed governors is at the centre of an effective governing board. Governing boards should undertake a skills audit regularly to identify the skills they need from new governors. We recommend using the National Governor’s Association Skills Audit

The Key for Schools Governors also has useful resources and information on recruiting governors.

Applying to be a governor

We invite applications for governors directly through the East Sussex County Council website, we can then match applications with schools that have vacancies. This approach sits alongside the strategies taken by schools themselves to recruit from their local school and wider community.

The application form and further information on becoming a school governor is on the main Council website.
