DfE Guidance on temporary changes: attendance recording for educational settings whilst closed due to the coronavirus
We have put together key information and resources for schools to help maintain provision during the COVID-19 situation.
The governor local area forums take place 3 times per year across the county at 4 locations. They are jointly facilitated by the local authority and the East Sussex Governors’ Forum (ESGF). Twice a year, the forums have an information based format with a speaker on an agreed topic and discussion time, once a year the forum is held as a networking session facilitated by the ESGF. The local area forums are well attended with over 100 governors attending each round.
Agendas and papers for the local area forums can be accessed on this page for the current academic year.
The next round of Governor Local Area Forums will take place in October and the theme will be Therapeutic Thinking. Therapeutic Thinking is a philosophy. It focuses on how all children and young people are to be supported, particularly in terms of their emotional wellbeing and mental health; it also helps to develop an understanding of how to respond to those who may be communicating through concerning behaviours. The Therapeutic Thinking approach is a school-led embedded ethos characterised by an inclusive culture, based on training and information that is underpinned by best practice, policy and plans. Our aim is to also embed the framework across East Sussex County Council (ESCC) services so that we generate a common language for both understanding children’s behaviours and responding to them in an inclusive way that promotes change.
