Information for Early Years SENCOs

Schools, colleges and education settings can find information and resources, including links to DfE guidance to support provision during the Covid-19 pandemic.

SENCO Support and Information

SENCOs must ensure the setting meets the requirements of the SEN Code of Practice and have regard to the Local Offer (also known as Special Needs and Disability Information).

The ISEND Early Years team provide support and guidance to settings working with pre-school children aged 0-5 years, who have additional needs.

There is an SEN Matrix that informs the referral process.

The SEND Toolkit can be found on the Council for Disabled Children's website.  This site also includes other helpful information for SENCOs.

SENCO Training

Online SENCO Training can be accessed via the East Sussex Learning Portal.

Training resources and information are also available at NASEN.
