The monthly census contains details about pupils at each school who are currently on roll, as well as recent leavers. This information is used to update the Children’s Services Pupil Database, which is used by a number of teams within the department, including SEN, Early Help and Social Care. It is also used to provide other agencies, such as the Clinical Commissioning Groups, with pupil information.
In order for the census to be accurate, it is important that your school pupil records are kept up to date.
How and when is the information collected?
Children’s Services collect the monthly census data automatically using GroupCall Xporter. School staff do not have to manually send a file. The census data will be taken on the third Thursday of every month. We will contact schools who have not made a monthly return.
